300 acres in Lincoln County, 1 March 1784

Benjamin Harrison, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come greeting.  Knowing ye that by virtue and in consideration of part of a land Office Treasury Warrant #225 and issued the 15th October 1779 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Edward Ball, a certain tract or parcel of land containing 300 acres by survey bearing date 4 September 1781 lying and being in the County of Lincoln in the forks of Dicks River and the hanging fork and bounded as followeth to wit.

Beginning 40 poles north 75 degrees west from a Beech, north east corner to a preemption of John Kennedy's at two Sugar trees near the bank of the hanging fork on the north side thence forth 75 degrees east 150 poles to a Black Walnut passing Dicks River at 72 poles thence north 15 degrees east 320 poles crossing the river at 100 and 160 poles to a large Beech tree thence north 75 degrees west 150 poles to a Sugar tree thence forth 15 degrees west 320 poles (passing the rive at 70 poles) to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Edward Ball and his heirs forever.

In witness whereof the said Benjamin Harrison, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the first day of March in the year of our Lord 1784 and of the Commonwealth the Eighth.

322 1/2 Acres Lincoln County; 2 December 1785

Patrick Henry, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  To all to whom these presents shall come greetings and know ye, that by virtue and in consideration of part of a land office treasury warrant number 225 and issued the 15th October 1779.

There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Edward Ball a certain tract or parcel of land containing three hundred and twenty two and a hal acres by survey bearing date the 4 March 1783 lying and being in the County of Lincoln on the waters of Sugar Creek and bounded as follows.

To wit; Beginning at a Black Walnut Hoopwood and Buckeye on the side of a ridge thence north 80 degrees east 363 poles crossing Scotts fork of Sugar Creek on a Branch of the same to a Black Walnut and Sugar tree on the top of a ridge thence north 10 degrees west 143 poles to a large Poplar and Sugar tree thence south 80 degrees west 363 poles crossing Scotts fork to a large Linn and Beech tree on the side of a ridge thence south 10 degrees east 143 poles crossing a branch to the beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land withits appurtenances to said Edward Ball and his heirs forever.

In Witness hereof the Patrick Henry Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the second day of December in the year of our Lord 1785 and of the Commonwealth the Tenth.

1066 1/2 Acres Campbell County; 11 December 1800

James Garrard, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky to all to whom these presents shall come greeting knew ye that by virtue and in consideration of Part of five Treasury Warrants #5857, 21432, 17407, 13989 and 12888 and entered the 26 July 1790.  There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Edward Ball a certain tract or parcel of land containing one thousand sixty six and a half acres by survey bearing date 16 Sep 1798 lying and being in the county of Campbell on Eagle Creek on the north side joining Richard Sebrees survey of 624 acres and bounded as followeth.

To Wit, Beginning at his north east corner at as Ash and two white oakds on a south ill side thence north 268 poles to two Beeches and Ironwoods on a East hill side near a Branch thence west 637 poles to a Black Walnut and two Hickorys on a south hill side near a Drain. Thence east to Richard Sebree's corner and with his line 637 poles to the Beginning withits appurtenances to have and tohold the said tract or Parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said Edward Ball and his heirs forever in Witness whereof the said James Garrard, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Seal of the Said Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the 18 December 1800 and of the Commonwealth the Ninth.

622 1/2 Acres Campbell County; 2 April 1802

James Garrard, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky to all to whom these presents shall come greeting knew ye that by virtue and in consideration of Part of five Treasury Warrant #244 and entered the 29 November 1782.  There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Edward Ball a certain tract or parcel of land containing one thousand sixty six and a half acres by survey bearing date 21 November 1797 and lying and being in the county of Campbell on Eagle Creek or branch of Kentucky and bounded as followeth;

To Wit Beginning at a small Beech marked IN on the north side of small drain from thence east 320 poles to a large ash and Beech trees, thence north 311 poles to a large Poplar and Sugar tree and three Beech trees, thence west 320 poles to a large Poplar and Sugar tree and three Beech trees thence south 311 poles to the beginning with its appurtenaces to have and to hold the said tract or parcelof land with its appurtenances to the said Edward Ball and his heirs forever.

In witness whereof the said James Garrard, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Seal of the Said Commonwealth to be affixed at Frankfort on the 2 April 1802 and of the Commonwealth the Tenth.
