Aspen Grove
Aspen Grove is on Kentucky Highway 9 just
off US 27 six miles south of Alexandria before Sun Valley and near A J Jolly
Park. Information comes from the Campbell County Historical Society
Aspen Grove Elementary-was a one
room frame school that was also called "Slop-town" school. It was in operation
in 1871 and closed in 1936. Originally just a rectangular building, cloak
rooms were added later. It is today a home with the space between the
cloak rooms closed in. The school consolidated with Grants Lick in 1936.
