Andrew Racke - I have never seen any official documents with Racke spelled Racky. Andrew was born in Pfeddersheim, not Preddersheim. His birth name was Andreas. I have been to Pfeddersheim twice and have pictures with the Pfeddersheim spelling on them. Andrew was the son of Johann Nikolaus Racke and Christina Engel. Johann Nikolaus Racke was born in Pfeddersheim on 11 November 1787 and Christina Engel was born in Offstein, Alzey-Worms on 23 February 1803. The information I have on his immigration shows 1850 not 1849. The 1900 census records shows 1850 and my great aunt’s notebook has 1850. Also, I have been told that Andrew came to the United States through New Orleans, not New York. I have a story from a cousin about Andrew coming through New Orleans. Another cousin thought Andrew came through New York. However, so far I have not been able to find any documents either in the US or in Worms confirming either entry point. Andrew served in the Civil War in the 15^th Kentucky Infantry, Company H, not J. He enlisted on 5 November 1861, at Camp Webster, and was mustered in at New Haven, Kentucky, on 14 December 1861. He was at the Battle of Perryville, Kentucky, and the Battle of Stone Mountain, Tennessee. He was mustered out on 14 January 1865.

Eva Anna Katherine Storn - My records list her as Eva Katherine Stern, who was born on 12 September 1838 in Essingen Landau. She is the daughter of John Theobald Stern and Eva Katherine Glaser. On her baptismal record, it shows her parents as Theobald Stern and Catherine Glaser. Glaser could be Glasser. However, the Alexandria Cemetery records on your site do show her name as Eva Anna Katherine Storn, daughter of David Theobold Storn and Eva Katherine Glazier, and her death record says Anna Catherine and lists a birth year of 1839. The tombstone for her father, a picture of which is in the anniversary book of St. Paul’s Church, has his name listed as J. Theobald Stern. Census records do list him as David Storn.

Some bible records and Anna Elizabeth Racke Miller list him at John Theobel or Theobald Racke. The Theobald would probably come from his grandfather’s name, John Theobald Stern. He married Elizabeth Margaret (Margaret) Fausz, daughter of Andreas (Andrew) Fausz and Anna Elizabeth (Elizabeth) Sornberger, on 26 February 1878 in Alexandria, Kentucky. Elizabeth Margaret Fausz was born on 16 January 1861 in Campbell County, Kentucky. She died on 26 June 26 1929 and is buried in the Alexandria Cemetery.
