Bullitt County Migrations: 
            from Old Yohogania Co. VA

Below are "sightings" of many  people found on the  Old Yohogania  migration index.  The index combines these border counties of PA & VA.   Documents below are those found in Old Yohogania counties.  [see the index for more on the formation of these counties]

Because of boundary changes it is very hard to know how to divide these records out - for the time being they will be placed together and may later be separated as the project grows and gains more form.

The criteria for placing these here is fair certainty that the people below are part of a family who sent at least some members to north central Kentucky. 

It is hoped that they will provide help with some specifics about  time and place and who they seem to be with. 

The abstracts are placed in chronological order with annotated notes if I have something to add.

21 Jan 1780 Elioner Dawson produced a certificate from the commissioners for 400 acres on the waters of Redstone  to include settlement made in the year 1770 in right of herself during her natural life the remainder to N. John William Province of Westmoreland Co. , yeoman, to Robert McClean Loudoun Co. VA, merchant.  300 acres warranted 11 Oct 1772  to Province adjoining James Gilmore on the Monongahela River in Bedford Co.   He now sells this property for 17,000 pounds U.S. currency.  Wits: Dennis Springer and Alexander McClean.  1781 Land survey for Tynson Ashby for 400 acres in Monongalia County on Snowy Glade Creek, a branch of the Yohogania River. Dated 12 June 1783 [this given name is very hard to read but I think it says Tynson - if so he is older than some researchers have thought when he arrives in Shelby Co. KY]
 1781 Land survey for William Westfall for 400 acres in Monongalia County on Teaters Creek including settlement made in the year 1772 agreeable to certificate.  Commissioners were George Harness & Sam'l Hannay (?).   Chain Bearers were George Westfall and Jobe Westfall.
