  and died the next day, unmarried.  During the fight he threw his dirk at Felty who also died.

  the farm.  When he returned home to VA he rented a farm from George Washington
  signing a contract dated 21 Dec 1785.  He returned to Kentucky but while clearing timber
  there the Indians took his horse and ax and gun.  "This compelled him to walk from 
  Bloomfield KY to his old place on the Monongahela River" in what is now Marion Co. WV
  He stayed there till 1790 when he brought his wife and two small children back to 
  "Gandertown" (which later became Bloomfield, KY).  (this from a letter from his son
   in law William E. Lane)
