Burton-Finnell-Roberts Cemetery

Walton, Boone County, Kentucky

This cemetery is located on the hill in the left field of the Walton City Softball Field. The cemetery has been totally vandalized over the years, with the tombstones broken and scattered. It is thought that there could be at least twenty five graves at this site.The City of Walton constructed the retaining wall, erected the fence, and maintains the area.

The broken tombstone pictured is that of Mary Ann Burton Finnell and son Milton. It is flat on the ground and was pieced back together for this photo.It is the most complete marker of all found at this location.

NOTE: Mary Ann Burton FINNELL was the daughter of Williamson A. and Susannah Marshall Burton. It is thought that Weeden S. Finnell, born 22 Aug 1806, Boone County Kentucky, the husband of Mary Ann Burton, is also buried at this site.
