KYGenWeb Project

Bath County, Kentucky

Welcome to the Bath County KYGenWeb. My name is

Alice Brosey and I am your new County Coordinator for Bath County. Sometime in the fall of 2009, Darrell Warner, the previous site coordinator for KYGenweb, ceased responding to emails from KYGenweb members, and private emails as far as I know. I, among many other people, would love the opportunity to communicate with him about genealogy again. He has been a marvelous boon to all Bath County researchers with the sheer volume of data he has compiled over more than a decade online. I know I personally had been in contact with him for almost a decade if not more. Although I will be travelling to Bath County to obtain information as time allows, this website truly depends on your submissions.

No matter how small the item please share it.
It could be a giant step in another persons research.
The more we share, the more we learn, the more others will give.

Please email any questions or submissions to Alice Warner Brosey

Bath County Memorial Library

There's not an organized Bath County genealogical society or other group that I'm aware of, but the Bath County Library has a genealogy collection that is useful and staff members who can probably give you the best scoop on where to go and what to do to find more information within Bath County itself. To contact them off line, write them at P.O. Box 380, Owingsville, KY 40360 or give them a call at (606) 674-2531.
Or visit their web site:  Bath County Memorial Library.

About the KYGenWeb Project and the USGenWeb Project

In the spring of 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project, which evolved into the KYGenWeb Project. The idea was to provide a single entry point for genealogy data and research for all counties in Kentucky. In addition, the information for each county would be indexed and cross-linked to make it easier for researchers to find a name or data that they sought.

In June 1996, as the KYGenWeb Project was nearing 100% county coverage, interested volunteers decided to create a similar set of pages for all states, establishing the USGenWeb Project. Volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the efforts for each state, and additional volunteers were and are being sought to create and maintain websites for every county in the United States.

Both KYGenWeb and The USGenWeb Project are still growing, and there are always opportunities for new volunteers to adopt county or state pages or participate in a Special Project.
To get to websites for other Kentucky counties or find out more about Kentucky counties available for adoption or special projects within KYGenWeb,  go to the KYGenWeb Home Page.
To find out more about the USGenWeb Project or access other states within that project, go to the USGenWeb Home Page.
The USGenWeb Archives is an offshoot of these projects, dedicated to collecting, transcribing, and posting genealogical records of all types.
