From the Winchester Democrat, Saturday night 2 or 3 negroes came to town, got
drunk, and headed home on Colby Pike. One of them Ed Wesley, about 20, or Black
Annie as he was called was found frozen to death the next morning near the home
of S.P. Hoskins
November 12, 1902 - Clay City Times
Oldest man in the world Elijah Bledsoe ( colored) died near Harrodsburg this
morning. He claimed to be 133 and there is no little doubt. It is said he
married over 13 times and was the father of 74 children.

Aunt Edie Bryant (colored) died in Trigg Co age 108. She was born in Culpepper
Co. VA and came to Ky as a slave in 1805

night, was lynched by a mob of his own. The body of the woman was found on the
roadside.

(colored) was sentenced to hang at Winchester for the murder of Etta Thomas.
They had lived together in Breathitt Co and she refused to move to Winchester

John Rooney, a
prisoner in Beattyville jail, killed Charles Boyd, negro prisoner, in a fight
over a card game.
March 19, 1908 - Clay City Times
Joseph Fletcher, the oldest negro man in Eastern KY and probably in the country
is dead at his home in Camargo. Age 116. He used tobacco for 110 years and
whiskey for 100 years. Ex-slave of Judge Fletcher

Wallace Miller, negro,
attempted to assault Lula Wadlington, 11, in Trigg Co. A mob lynched him in the
courtyard,
