February 6, 1854

Order Book O, Page 263 & 264

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court from the information of Jesse Kennedy and the statement of Mrs Sally Webb in writing that Fanny a negro woman slave advanced in years formerly belonging to Elijah Webb & by him sold to Billy Holloway a free man of color, has become unable to support & maintain herself, and the said Billy Holloway having died insolvent it is ordered that the said Fanny

be sent to the poor house of this county.

 

September 4, 1865

A majority of the Justices of the county being present an unanimously concerning it is ordered that no colored persons free or slave shall be taken to the Poor House.

December 16, 1871

 

"The trustees of the Paris Colored Cemetery Company having proved to the court, that they have purchased a lot of ground for said cemetery containing nine acres and have off & dedicated two acres thereof for a pauper burying ground for colored paupers, it is ordered that there be appropriated & paid out of the Levy of 1872 to said trustees $800.00 paying for the whole of said lot except the $800.00 hereby appropriated and guaranteeing to the county of Bourbon the use of said two acres as a burial ground for colored paupers."

November 4, 1872

Court Order Book R, Page 260

 

"Trustees of the Colored Cemetery Company have paid for 9 acres of land for a cemetery & have laid off and deeded to the County of Bourbon two acres thereof for a colored burying ground .

It is now ordered that the Treasurer of Bourbon County pay to the President of the said Cemetery Co. out of the depositium eight hundred dollars, the amount appropriated at the Dec. term 1871 of said Court, to pay for said two acres of land.

 

Ordered that E Wyatt be allowed and paid out of the depositum one hundred & thirty five Dollars, for support of A. Henderson, the ensuing year. 

Ordered that there be appropriated for Evaline & John Hamilton one hundred & fifty dollars, for their support the ensuing year, to be paid out of the depositum & be placed in the hands of J. T. Barlow.

Betty Throchmorton col. is allowed & to be paid out of the depositum twenty five dollars for taking care of her husband Ralph Throchmorton decd.

Ordered that R Howes Judge Bourbon County Court be allowed for his services for one year One thousand dollars to be paid semiannually

Ordered that R Mann County Attorney be allowed for his services, for one year five hundred dollars & to be paid semiannually.
