Coffey County is located in the east-central part of Kansas. An original county, it was established in 1855. Its county seat and largest city is Burlington. Coffey County is bordered by Osage and Franklin Counties, respectively, to the north and northeast; Anderson and Allen Counties to the east and southeast; Woodson County to the south; and Greenwood and Lyon Counties to the southwest and west.
