Marriage of M. D. Berg to Miss Mary Voight announced.
The contest court decides that H. D. Baker is elected sheriff.
Messrs. Briggs & Gebhart purchases C. A. Kingman & Co.'s hardware store.
W. T. Hall retires from the firm of Radcliff Bros & Hall.
On Tuesday evening Chas. Sendon's and B. M. Simon's residences destroyed by fire.

Sheriff Going starts in pursuit of Abe Pursinger.
The contest court decides in favor of F. H. Wildman as county clerk.
E. W. Ayres goes to Richmond, Va.
Ed. Johnson returns from his wanderings in the West.
Smoky View township laid off by the County Commissioners.

A terrible prairie fire on Gypsum
creek. Also south of Brookville. Large amount of properly destroyed.

The Meade and Nelson buildings enclosed.
D. B. Powers starts again for Texas. He sells his interest in the elevator to P. Goodnow.
T. L. Bond becomes the father of a daughter.
Faulkner & Wildman rent the second story of Whitehead & Seaman's new building for a real estate office.
Freight train levied upon by Sheriff Baker for taxes.

Ladies Catholic Fair going on.
The first rain storm for several months on Tuesday night.
Dr. E. R. Switzer made county physician by the Commissioners.

Maj. Probert seriously injured by being thrown from a horse.
Mrs. Probert and Mrs. F. H. Wildman go East.
M. Mayo arrives and settles in this county.

Col. Bascom loses a leg by amputation.

Dr. Nickles announced as the father of a young female.
Messrs. Kingman & Anderson commence shipping mules from Missouri.
Henry Burton dies south of town.
Barney Bohan found guilt of murder in the second degree.

B. A. Litowich married to Miss Blanch Meurer on Tuesday.
Rev. Dearborn becomes presiding elder of the Salina district
Rev. Lockwood is made pastor of the Salina M.E. Church.
Barney Bohan sentenced by Judge Prescott to imprisonment for life.
W. W. Norton dies at his farm on the Saline.
H. M. Sale moves into his new building.
Pursinger sentenced by Judge Prescott to three years in the penitentiary.

A number of families from Cambria county, Pennsylvania, arrive.
Messrs. Bond, Baker, Kessler, Groger, and others, engage in mining west of here.

Gov. Osborn visits Salina.
U. B. Powers has a new daughter.
The masons commence with the brick work of Schwartz and Berg's new buildings.
J. W. Peterson and wife start for the Centennial - the first visitors from Salina.
C. W. Jones' house takes fire, but the flames are soon extinguished.

C. W. Jones rejoices over the birth of a boy.
W. S. Wells starts a branch tobacco store at Georgetown, Colorado.

The Democratic county convention elects S. M. Palmer, E. N. Sterns and W. R. Geis delegates to the State Democratic convention.
G. A. Nelson purchases his present hotel property.
C. C. Culp and wife return from the East.
A heavy rain storm on Friday night.
The wind destroys J. N. Husted's farm house.
Mr. and Mrs. Ober celebrate on Wednesday evening the fifth anniversary of their wedding.
Sargent & Williams move into their present quarters.
Messrs. Markland, Dodge & Moore at Salina looking up a business location.

M. E. Sloan dies very suddenly at Junction City.
Tho steamer Belle of Salina arrives and is placed on the Smoky.
Tho terrible cyclone passes over Saline and McPherson counties, destroying property and lives.
