JOHN A. LARSON, who is a druggist in Assaria, Smoky View Township, Saline County, is a native of Sweden, having been born there July 10, 1854. His father is L.J. Larson, who is a resident of Falun Township, where he settled in the fall of 1869, and where he has since been a resident. When our subject had reached the age of fourteen years, he emigrated with his parents to America, and lived with them in Falun Township until he had grown to manhood. He received the education provided by the common schools of that county. In 1882, he came to Assaria, where he engaged in the hardware business, which calling he followed for about a year and a-half, when he sold out, and engaged in stock-raising for about two and a-half years. He then learned the drug trade, and has since continued in that occupation, in which he has met with excellent success. He has shown that he is a man of good business ability, and by his upright dealings has won the esteem and respect of all.

Mr. Larson was united in marriage to Miss Matilda Johnson in the town of Knoxville, Ill., in January, 1883. Her death occurred in 1886, and she left many friends to mourn her loss.

Our subject is active in all political affairs, affiliating with the Republican party, which has his sympathy and support. He is Secretary of the Republican Central Committee of Saline County. The Swedish Lutheran Church, of which he is a member, has his interest and warm support.(khhp) He is recognized as one of the solid and enterprising business men of this town, and his many friends rejoice in the measure of success he has attained. His business career has been most honorable and upright, and this has won for him many friends.
