Senate Committee on Invalid Pensions
June 15, 1936
Senate Report 3557

Eliza A. Perry, 1424 Houston Street, Manhattan, Kans, is the widow of Henry A. Perry, who enlisted August 1, 1863, in Troop E, Eleventh Regiment Kansas Cavalry, an was honorably discharged September 1, 1865. The soldier was pensioned at $10 per month until his death, July 6, 1904. The widow is now pensioned at $40 per month under WC581659.

The claimant is 79 years of age. She was married to the soldier on March 24, 1873, and is his lawful widow.

The claimant owns no property but has a small bank account of about $300. She has no other income aside from her pension.

Medical testimony shows that she is wholly unfitted for self-support by reason of heart lesion, which makes it impossible for her to take care of herself. She is able to be up in a chair part of the time and requires regular aid and attendance of another person.

The committee recommends that her pension be increased to $50 pension.
