COUNCIL GROVE

This is the County Seat of Morris county, being in the fifth row of counties west of Missouri, and the second row south of the Kansas river. It is near the third standard parallel and where the guide meridian east intersects the former, in township one west, and 16 south, and 57 miles south of west of Topeka. It is a high rolling prairie country, being some distance to living streams.
