Archie Bre�wer, 74, died Sunday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. He was born July 26, 1922 at Peabody, and mar�ried Fama Loretta Rowland May 28, 1922 at Marion. He had lived in Newton since 1937. Survivors include his broth�ers: Lee, Los Angeles; Merl, Peabody and Owen, Kinsley. Mrs. Rebecca Brooks, who had been living with her daughter, Mrs. O. A. Wiley, Route 1, Emporia, died Friday. Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Peabody. Burial will be in the Peabody cemetery. (abstract, Emporia Gazette, Jan. 7, 1939)

Anna (Ratzloff) Frantz, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 1994. Graveside service Friday, Aug. 26, Peace Valley Cemetery, rural Durham; memorial service before at Central Heights Mennonite Church, Durham. Survivors include her sons, Daniel of Durham, David of Ramona, Jonas of Tampa, Leonard of Hillsboro; daughters, Esther Funk of Hillsboro, Edith Unruh of Enid, Okla.; brothers, Sam Ratzloff of Hillsboro, Harry Ratzloff of Oregon; sister, Olga Penner of Hillsboro; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Samuel H. Gill, of Florence, died Sunday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock in an Emporia hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday, with burial in Florence. (abstract, Emporia Gazette, July 29, 1935)

Charles V. Goll, Peabody, died Wednesday at an Emporia hospital after a sickness of almost one year, He was born in Severance October, 25, 1853. He lived near Olpe until about eight ago, when he moved to Peabody. Mr. Goll is survived by his wife of Emporia, and seven children. They are: Elmer, Oliver and Lee, of Emporia; Mrs. May Watkins, of Olpe; Mrs. Minnie Dubby and Mrs. Maude Titel, of El Dorado, and William Goll of Peabody. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with interment in Maplewood cemetery. (abstract, Emporia Gazette, July 18, 1928)

Frank Hall, Florence, died Wednesday evening at the Emporia home of his sister, Mrs. Stanley Abel. Funeral services are incomplete, but burial will be in Florence. (abstract, Emporia Gazette, Jan. 15, 1948)

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hamilton, 405 West 15th, Hutchinson, was buried yesterday afternoon at the Prairie Lawn cemetery, Peabody. A service was read at the grave. (abstract, Hutchinson News, Apr. 26, 1938)

Mrs. Marie Hein, 79, died Tuesday, July 20, 1993. Service Friday, July 23, Durham (Kan.) Park Cemetery, with a memorial service before, at the Durham Church of God. Survivors: son, Manfred of Newton; brothers, Leon Galyardt of Russell, Marvin Galyardt of Newark, Calif., Robert Galyardt of Millington, Tenn.; sisters, Ann Eby, Elsie Nevart, both of Los Angeles, Bernice Meister of San Diego. Cottonwood Falls, Aug. 4, -- James Huntley, 34, of Florence, died this morning in a Newton hospital, where he had been the past two weeks with a broken back. Verl Pruitt, also of Florence, is alleged to have assaulted Huntley at the Austin Harbour farm in Southwestern Chase county, the trouble between the men having been the result of alleged advances made by Pruitt to Mrs. Huntley. After Huntley's injuries. Pruitt was arrested in Florence and placed in the Chase county Jail. He was released on a $3,500 bond, raised by his friends. However, Huntley's death may result in more serious charges against Pruitt. Mr. Huntley is survived by his wife and two children. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nim Huntley, of Cedar Point. Funeral services for Hugh Jackson, who died Wednesday in Peabody, were held this morning at 10 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue Funeral chapel. Burial was in Toledo cemetery. Hugh Jackson was born October 29, 1849, in Argyleshlre, Scotland He came to Cottonwood Falls in 1880. He operated hardware businesses in Cottonwood Falls from 1880 to 1896, to Burlington from 1896 to 1897 and in Hartford from 1897 to 1910. He came to Emporia in 1910 and lived here three years before moving to Peabody. He married Barbara Ann Wilson on November 3, 1882, in Cottonwood Falls; she died August 9, 1930. Mr. Jackson belonged to the Odd Fellows lodge in Burlington and was a Methodist. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. S. H. Bennett, 211 North Olive, Peabody; a sister, Miss Helen Ann Jackson, Argyleshire. Scotland, and a brother, Duncan Jackson, Argyleshire, Scotland. Out-of-town friends and relatives attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Bennett, Miss Cora Bennett, Miss Helen Bennett and Mrs. Hugh Whipby, all of Peabody. Aleda L. Johnson, 73, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 1996. Service Wednesday, Kaiser Cemetery, Durham, with a memorial service before. She is survived by her husband, Clement; sons, Duane Kaiser of Durham, Eldon Kaiser of Lehigh; daughter, Betty Houghton of McPherson; stepson, Armin Johnson of Lubbock, Texas; brothers, Vernon Clark of Bartlesville, Okla., James Clark of Galva; sisters, Norma Couoghenour of McPherson, Lois Roth of Perry, Okla.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren. Clinton D. Lantis, Emporia, an interior decorator, died Monday evening at 7 o'clock at Newman Memorial County hospital. He was born February 8, 1866, in Decatur, Neb., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lantls. He married Ada Ely on March 23, 1946. He is survived by his wife and two sons by a former marriage, Lawrence Lantis, of Topeka, and Leonard Lantis, of Moscow, Iowa; one granddaughter and two grandsons. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Thompson funeral home in Marion. Burial was In the Marion cemetery. Out-of-town relatives attending the services were Mrs. Clinton D. Lantis, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Ely and Mrs. Hazel Rutherford, of Emporia; and Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Lantis and family, of Topeka. (abstract, Emporia Weekly Gazette, Apr. 28, 1949)

Isaac R. Miller, 68, a retired rural mall carrier, died Sunday night at St. Mary's hospital in Emporia. He had been living with his niece, Mrs. J. E. Kelsheimer, since moving from Marion three years ago to Emporia Mr. Miller was born May 19, 1864, in Bedford county, Pennsylvania. He came to Kansas when he when a young man and was married about 50 years ago to Miss Nellie Lynch, of Emporia. She died in Marion in 1920. Mr. Miller is survived by a son, H. Ross Miller of Chisholm, Minn. Funeral services will be at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Button Funeral home. Another service will be Wednesday afternoon in Marion, with burial in the Marion cemetery. (abstract, Emporia Gazette, Jan. 30, 1933)

Loran B."Fuzzy" Nuss, 72, Hillsboro, died Sept 25, 2004. Service Wednesday, at Zion Lutheran Church with burial at Durham Baptist Cemetery, Durham, KS. Survivors include his wife, Lois; sons, Bradley, Stanley, Loren Mark, Gary, Brian; daughter, Peni Jo Ens; sister, LaVonne Wenrich; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth H. Popp, 74, of Hillsboro, died Aug. 18, 1992, at a nursing home there. Born Nov. 22, 1917, at Durham, she was the daughter of William H. and Caroline Breckel Popp. She was a member of the Church of God, Durham. She is survived by a brother, William Popp, Durham; a half-brother, Solomon H. Popp, Sacramento; and a half-sister, Vera I. Popp, Phoenix. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hillsboro Memorial Chapel, Hillsboro. Burial will be in the Durham Park Cemetery, Durham. (abstract, Hutchinson News, Aug. 20, 1992)

Mrs. Thomas M. Potter, of Peabody, died Wednesday morning at Christ Hospital, Topeka, of peritonitis. She was taken to Topeka a week ago to undergo an operation there. The body was taken to the family home Peabody later that day. She was the wife of Senator Potter, a prominent stockman and ranchman of Peabody, who is also a member of the Kansas senate. Mrs. Emma Riggs, of Florence, died this morning at 6:15 o'clock at the Emporia home of her son, H. M. Riggs, after several months' illness. Funeral services will be held at Florence, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Methodist church. Miss Emma Elizabeth Taggart was born July 12, 1861, in Thompson county, New York. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Taggart. Miss Taggart came to Florence in 1880 and two years later married Delma Riggs on August 31, 1882. Surviving relatives are four sons, Arthur and Calvin Riggs, Florence, and Hervey M. and Ernest D. Riggs, Emporia; two daughters, Mrs. Robert D. Lumley, Emporia, and Mrs. Pearl B. Meenach, Spokane. Wash.; a brother, C. B. Taggart, Muskogee, Okla.; an aunt, Mrs. E. H. Weeks, Tallahasse, Fla., and 11 grandchildren. (abstract, Emporia Gazette, Jan. 16, 1935)

Funeral services for O. A. Wiley, Rt. 5, who died Thursday at his home, were held Monday afternoon in the Roberts-Blue-Barnelt Chapel. Burial was in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Cedar Point, Feb. 8.--Jackson Williams, a resident of Marion County for twenty-five years, died last week. He was born near Sugar Grove, Virginia, and came to Oklahoma before locating to Marion County. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. John Heckler, and one son, Bryant Audrey Williams. Funeral services for Henry E. Woolheater, who died Friday afternoon at the Emporia home of his daughter, Mrs. Rachel Hart, will be held Sunday afternoon at the graveside in the Peabody cemtery at Peabody. The services will be In charge of the Peabody Masonic lodge, of which Mr. Woolheater had been a member or 50 years. Mr. Woolheater, son of Rachel Lockwood Woolheater and Henry Steele Woolheater, was born April 10, 1859 at Monroe, Jasper County, Iowa. His father died when he was nine months old and he and his mother and only brother, Ed Woolheater, went to New York to live with the mother's people. They came to Kansas In 1874 and settled at Peabody which was their home for many years. After the death of his mother and in May, 1885, Mr. Woolheater went to Lane County, Kansas, where he homesteaded a claim, taught school and was elected clerk of the district court for two terms, 1892-1896. He married Annie Laura Dunstone at Ness City, November 29, 1894. They moved from Dlghton in 1897 to Mitchell, Ind., where Mr. Woolheater was editor of the Mitchell Commercial. In 1902 they returned o Peabody, and in 1903 Mr. Woolheater was appointed deputy clerk of Marion county and the family moved to Marion which has been their home since that time. He was elected county clerk for two terms, 1906-1909. For 15 years Mr. Woolheater was in the employ of the Orient and later the Santa Fe railroad at Runnymede, from which position he retired in 1930. Since that time he hac made his home with his daughter In Emporia and at the family home In Marion. While in Lane county he studied law and was admitted to the Kansas bar in February, 1895. Later he was a member of the Marion County bar He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and Odd Fellows at Marion, and of the A. F. & A. M at Peabody. He is survived by his widow, one son, Harold E. Woolheater; three daughters, Mrs. Rachel Hart, of Emporia, Ada Woolheater of Marion and Doris Woolheater, of Bucklin; two granddaughters, Jean and Carolyn Woolheater, of Wichita. His eldest daughter, Louise Woolheater died in 1919. His brother, Ed Woolheater, a Santa Fe conductor, was killed in a railroad accident at Colorado Springs in 1901. Ben Zitterkopf, 82, died Wednesday, June 14, 1995. Services, Saturday, June 17, at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Hutchinson, with burial at Durham Park Cemetery, Durham. Survivors include his sons, Larry of Hutchinson, Dennis of Wichita; a brother William Zitterkopf of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Elizabeth Garrett of Newton, Emelia Laubhan of Durham; four grandchildren.
