QUADE --Mrs. Mary Quade died at her home in southwest Olathe yesterday at the age of 71. The funeral services will be held Friday at the home, with burial in Olathe Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Quade were pioneers of Kansas City. They came from Ohio, and in 1867 Mr. Quade and his brother in law, H. J. Latshaw, father of Judge Latshaw, started a lumberyard in Kansas City. A few years later he built an elevator in the West Bottoms. Mrs. Quade is survived by her husband, Robert W. Quade, and two daughters, Mrs. Cornelia (W. F.) Guthrie and Mrs. Miriam (J. W.) Shroeder of Kansas City and two sons, Morey of Olathe and J. W. of Springfield, Mo. (Kansas City Star, Nov. 6, 1913)
