DAVIS --Scott Davis, age 58 and a resident of Olathe, died yesterday at St. Margaret's hospital.

DAY --The remains of J. H. Day, of Olathe
Kas , who died at that place on Saturday of
paralysis, were brought to the city yesterday
morning and placed in the vault at
Forest Hill cemetery. (Kansas City Journal, August 8, 1898)

DAY --Nathaniel Day, 20 years old, son of John Day, died at his home, 85th St. and Prospect Ave., Dodson, yesterday of asthma. Burial will be a Spring Hill, Kas., this afternoon. (Kansas City Star, Mar. 31, 1912) See copy of death certificate here.

DEARFIELD --A quarrel arose at Spring Hill, Johnson County, Kas., last Sunday afternoon between
Thomas Cotton and James Dearfield, negroes, while they were returning from church.
Dearfield stopped the buggy in which Cotton and his wife were riding and attempted to cut Cotton with a knife. Cotton drew a revolver and shot Dearfield. The latter died this afternoon. He was offended at Cotton because he was refused the company of Cotton's daughter. Cotton surrendered to the authorities.

DEER --Andy Deer, 51 years old, died suddenly at 6 o'clock this morning at the Avenue Hotel in Olathe, of heart disease. He had previously lived in Kansas City, but for the last six years had made his home in Olathe, where he was a cement contractor. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday, under the direction of Olathe aerie, F.O.E., of which lodge Mr. Deer was a member.

DENT --Mrs. Carrie Dent, wife of James Dent, Johnson County treasurer,
died yesterday following a long illness. She was born in Allegheny City, Pa., and had lived in Olathe since 1885. Besides her husband, a son, Roy, and a daughter, Mrs. Arthur P. Cosgrove, both of Olathe, survive. Funeral services will be at the home at 3 'clock Tuesday afternoon.

DUFFY --Frank Duffy, 79 years old, died at his Olathe home this morning. He farmed four miles south of Olathe until fifteen years ago, when he retired and moved into town. Mr. and Mrs. Duffy celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last year. He was a member of the Methodist church for over 50 years. Funeral will be Sunday from the Methodist church, with burial in Olathe Cemetery.

DUFES --Pauline Unger Dufes, 54 years old, wife of Chasamer Dufes, a truck gardener of Merriam, Kans., died at the General Hospital at 11 o'clock this morning of apoplexy. She came to Kansas City with her husband on a load of garden truck and became ill at the City Market. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and a son, all of Merriam. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.

DYSTER--Mrs. Amelia Dyster, 70 years old, died Sunday at her home in Shawnee,
Kas. She is survived by three sons, George, Robert and John Dyster.
Funeral services will be at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home;
burial in Shawnee Cemetery.
