Junction City.
This smart and thriving town is
situated in Davis county, and is the
County Seat. It is in the north part,
on the west side of Solomon's Fork of
the Kansas river, and on the line of
the Union Pacific R. R. It is four
miles south-west of Fort Riley, and 62
miles directly west of Topeka, but
more by the river and railroad.
Country well watered and timbered
and place improving very fast and the
immediate vicinity very rapidly settling up. It is destined to be one of
the most important towns in Kansas,
and has now a population of about
1000 souls.
