St. Joseph's Cemetery, aka McDowell Creek Cemetery, is located in Sec. 34, Wingfield Twp., about a mile southeast of Interstate 70 on McDowell Creek Road. This cemetery was photographed March 23, 2007 by Sheryl McClure. St. Joseph's Catholic Church is located adjacent to the cemetery. Although no longer in use, the building is in good condition (see here). According to a plaque on the building, the church was built in 1910, and probably replaced an older structure, since burials occurred long before that date. The cemetery is still an active one, with several burials occurring in 2006.

Although I tried to photograph every stone in the cemetery, I may have missed one or more. It also appeared there were missing or broken off stones. If you know of any omissions or errors please contact me. I cropped some of the stones rather closely so that I could use a bigger picture for some of the difficult to read markers. I was pleased that some of the stones, which were impossible to read at the cemetery, showed up much clearer in the photographs so that they could be labeled.
