CLYDE RICE RITES

The Konantz chapel was filled to capacity yesterday afternoon for the funeral of Clyde Ernest Rice, who died unexpectedly last Wednesday at Moline, Kans. Not only did a large delegation of friends attend the services from Fort Scott, but many came from the surrounding towns. Employees of Prudential Insur�ance company of Fort Scott attended in a body, as well as Clarence Turner, William Jones and M. G. Jones of Pittsburg; C. A. Berg, Butler; W. R. Quarton and Leland Dalton of Nevada; and Harold Horn, Arma. Officers and members of Olive Chapter No. 13 O. E. S. attended in a body

The Rev. W. H. Johnson read the 23rd Psalm and in his discourse gave a word picture of this psalm as he eulogized the life of Mr. Rice. Music was furnished by Lloyd Wright, Jr., who sang a solo. Mrs. Alta Bates was the organist.

The front of the chapel was a mass of floral offerings attesting the esteem in which the deceased was held.

Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: J. B Aydelotte, John T. Grain, Harry, Bryce, Kenneth Foust, Dr. A. C, Irby, Rudy Wrenick, Dick Wat�son, and Nelson Brown. Blue lodge services at the grave were conducted by William A. Clark as worshipful master, assisted by officers of Rising Sun Lodge No. 8, A. F. and A. M.

Out-of-town relatives here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rice and family of Kansas City; Claude Rice, Sr., Burlington, Kans., Burton Rice, Muskogee, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. William Hyatt Claude Rice, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Rice, all of Kansas City. Kan.; Burton Rice, Lawrence; and the father, W. S. Rice of Joplin

Out-of-town friends here for the services were: Past grand matrons of the Grand Chapter of Kansas, Mrs. Maude D. Clossen, Coffeyville, Mrs. Viola Marcoot, Caldwell, and Mrs. Anna L. Foust of Iola; Mrs. Daisy Force, grand associate conductress, Arkansas City, Kas.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne M. McClelland, Coffeyville; Mrs. Alma Breyfogle, Mrs. Ethelyn Crawford, Mrs. Carrie Butler, and Mrs. Dennie Barker, Overland Park, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Claughley, Mrs. Grace Hartig and Mrs. J. W.
