J. R. Conquest

                    J. R. CONQUEST

Came to this county in 1873 and has been actively engaged in county affairs ever since. He served four years as probate judge and four years as commissioner and has had no small part in shaping the destinies of this county. He is an old soldier, having served in the army three years, part of the time being on the plains fighting Indians. He is of a sociable nature and enjoys a good story. He has the distinction of being the first man in the county to sell 160 acres of land for $10,000 that did not lay near a town.
