LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOSEPH P. RYAN

With a faithful reliance upon that Divine Strength which has sustained me thus far on my journey, I, Joseph P. Ryan, do make and publish my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made at any time.

First. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Ryan all the real and personal estate of which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease be and remain her sole and separate property during the term of her natural life, subject to the conditions and provisions hereinafter set forth, to wit: that upon the death of my said wife all my said property, both real and personal, hereby bequeathed, shall be divided equally between my children, viz. Thomas G. Ryan, Nathan W. Ryan, Artimissa Edelblute, Mary F. Ryan, Joseph M. Ryan, Margaret B. Conard and Augustus E. Ryan, share and share alike; that upon my decease my said daughter, Mary F. Ryan, and my said son, Joseph M. Ryan shall together with my wife carry on my farming business and care for, keep together and use the said property for the benefit of my said wife, and should either my said son, Joseph, or my said daughter, Mary, desire at any time to start for themselves, the one remaining with my said wife is authorized to take care of and manage said real and personal property for the benefit of my said wife and I hereby make it optional with my said son Joseph M. Ryan and my said daughter Mary F. Ryan to keep said personal property in the shape it is now or not as they in connection with my said wife Elizabeth Ryan shall determine

Second. I hereby appoint my said daughter, Mary F. Ryan and my said son, Joseph M. Ryan, executrix and executor of this my will, hereby waiving the giving of any bond at any time during their said executorship, either after my death or that of my said wife, and I hereby desire that no appraisement of my personal estate shall be made after the death of my said wife, but that the same be divided as above and herein set forth.

In witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand, this 24th day of February, 1879.
