McGREGOR, R. P.
Baxter Springs. Kas , Aug. 22-(Special) R. P. McGregor, of Baxter Springs, died at 1 p. m. to-day of apoplexy. He was prominent in Grand Army affairs and was the promoter of the big Baxter Springs reunion. He served in the state legislature and was known throughout the state as an uncompromising and untiring Republican politician. His death just on the eve of our sixteenth annual reunion has cast gloom over our city and county. He was captain of Company B, 152d Indiana infantry. (Kansas City Journal, Aug. 23, 1897)
