Organization of Early Christian Churches in Brown County
February 21, 1876. Hamlin Christian church incorporated with Robert Patton,
David Shelton, Jonas Myers, Franklin Myers, and John P. Shelton as trustees.
August 20, 1879. Padonia Christian church incorporated with E. R. Cornelison,
Z. Brown, Thomas Hart, H. O. Jones and D. C. Nutting as trustees.
January 20, 1882. The Christian church of Baker is organized by Elder F. M.
Rains, with the following charter members: E.Harrington, John C.
Stapleton, Henry Smith, elders: Dr. W. B. Littreal, R. E. Bowman and Daniel
Mallory, deacons.
August 8, 1883. Baker Christian church incorporated with W. B. Littreal,
Eldred Harrington, Henry Smith, Daniel Rork and James W. Stapleton as
trustees.
January 25, 1888. First Christian church of Horton incorporated with J. H.
Simmons, Bert Williams, Samuel Means, W. Holder and J. E. Davis as trustees.
February 17, 1896. Reserve Christian Church incorporated with O C.
Rummell, Bert G. Wise and J. Reasoner as trustees. The property is estimated at
$3000.
