Robert F. Sawicki, 83, of St. Clair Shores, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, in Mount Clemens. He was born May 27, 1923, in Detroit. Mr. Sawicki enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and fishing and woodworking until he couldn't do it any longer. He served as a first sergeant in the U.S. Army, 298th Engineer of Combat during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Margaret J.; children, Gregory Sawicki, Suzanne (Michael) Sweeney, Laura (Gordon) Brown and Sandra (Mark) Carland; and grandchildren, Tracy (Tom), Jason, Diane, Jeff and Kelly. Service Saturday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, St. Clair Shores. S.K. Schultz Funeral Home, Eastpointe.
