Edward Walter Kudlaty, a lifelong resident of Chicago Heights, died Monday, Jan. 25, at VITAS Hospice at St. James Hospital and Health Centers, Chicago Heights. Mass at St. Kieran Catholic Church, Chicago Heights, with the Rev. William Eddy. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Steger. Kerr-Parzygnot Funeral Home, Chicago Heights. Mr. Kudlaty was born April 9, 1924, in Chicago Heights. He was retired as a shipping supervisor with the former General Electric Co., Chicago Heights, in 1986, with 35 years of service; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2825 in Chicago Heights; Disabled Veterans of America; Purple Heart Club of South Chicago Heights; St. Kieran Catholic Church; and the former St. Joseph Church of Chicago Heights; and a local golf professional at Deer Creek Golf Course, University Park; and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Florence (nee Kasper), two daughters, Mariann (Robert) Gorman of Barrington and Kathleen (Joseph) Natola of DesPlaines; a son, Lawrence of TInely Park; a sister, Lillian Kudlaty of Hazel Crest; a brother Theodore of LaMiranda, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
