I was was very good friends with these men, and was especially close to Jesse Escobedo. When Jesse (Jesus) was blown up, I found his boot with part of his leg still attached. This was all they had to identify his body.

183 0900 Feb 17/45 T/4 Donahee, ASN 36585344, and Pfc Escobedo, ASN 36588998, Co B, were killed, and Pfc Propst ASN 34777566, was seriously injured when an explosion occurred near the Bailey Bridge which they were guarding. At the time, they were cleaning up a lumber pile at the bridge site and it is believed that several undetected mines below the lumber pile were detonated.
