After much head-scratching, many hours of research, lots of assistance from relatives (particularly Carol Rawlings), and much frustration over our PARSONS lineage, we believe we have finally come up with a more abbreviated, but accurate lineage for our branch of this large, intermingled family.
Unfortunately, we were among the many taken in by bogus genealogies that circulated several years ago, and it wasn't until Carol shared her hard work with me that I was able to clear up some of the many unanswered questions. To those researchers that based their family histories on this incorrect information, I am truly sorry and wish I had done my OWN "homework" before posting what I believed was a true, verified lineage. I can only say I learned a very hard lesson through my impulsiveness and trusting, and will not be so quick to accept information that "falls into my lap" again.
So, here, on these pages, is the new, updated information:
If there is ANY question about a person's "rightful place" in our lineage, there will be a question mark after their name. The question mark will tell you that we have good reason to believe they belong there and have done SOME verification (usually census information), but want to research other resources before permanently giving them residence on these pages.
If you have anything you'd like to share, anything you would like to verify or dispute, please feel free to e-mail us. We welcome all suggestions and information and will consider each carefully. (Once burned, twice shy!)
