Our CARR Family begins with Thomas Henry Carr, born in 1797, in Westmorland County, Pennsylvania. In about 1826, he chose as his bride the daughter of William and Margaret Shannon, Miss Mary Shannon.
Shortly after their marriage, Thomas and Mary Carr migrated to Ohio, where all nine of their children were born.
As the children grew up in Putnam County, Ohio, they married and raised their families near their parents. But the third generation had wanderlust and dreams that could not be fulfilled in Riley Township. So they began to spread out.
Our closest CARR relation, Julia Ann, daughter of David Harrison, son of Thomas Henry, married John William Beach, and they made their way south to Oklahoma where they lived in Creek County and raised their family.
But it was in her home state of Ohio that the Lord chose to call Julia home. Her death occurred as a result of a terrible automobile accident while the recent widow was back for a family reunion.
