34. Nancy Lucinda WHITE21 was born on 8 February 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.34 She died on 1 November 1958 at the age of 97 in Commerce, Hunt County, Texas. She was buried in Rosemound Cemetery, Commerce, Hunt County, Texas.

Nancy was not in the 1880 census with the White family. She had married in 1878 and was living with her inlaws and apparently listed as their "daughter" Nannie Ann.
By 1900 she was widowed and her married name was Brigance. Her sons death certificate lists his name as Heywood Brigance.

After both Lucinda and her mother were widowed, they lived together along with Lucinda's unmarried sister Mary.

Lucinda's Texas Death Certificate #63178. She had lived in Commerce for 60 years at the time of her death. She died at home, 1308 Ash. Her full name given as Nancy Lucinda Brigance. She was 97 and, of course, widowed. Born 8 Feb 1861. Died 1 Nov 1958. Father's name: J. W. White [it was Andrew - but who would have known?]. Mother was Sarah Williams. The informant was Mrs. H. G. Long [relationship unknown]. Lucinda died of cardiac failure and senility. She was buried Rosemound Cemetery.

I did not find Lucinda listed in the online summary of this Cemetery, although her sister Mary and mother were both there. Possibly her grave never marked. Her son John is also said to be in the same cemetery, but I found no Brigance.

Son John's Texas Death Certificate #72215. John Henry Brigance. Born 7 Nov 1885, died 2 Oct 1968. He was age 82 and married at the time. He died in Commerce General Hospital where he had been for three weeks; his home address listed as 1709 Sycamore, Commerce. His father's name given as Heywood Brigance, mother as Lucinda White. His occupation given as salesman. Mrs. Gertrude Brigance was the informant -since his wife was Miriam in 1920, perhaps he married more than once. He died of gastrointestinal hemorrhage - he had colon cancer. John was buried Rosemound Cemetery, Commerce, Hunt Co TX.

Nancy Lucinda WHITE and Haywood Thomas BRIGANCE were married on 20 July 1878 in Fannin County, Texas.35 Haywood Thomas BRIGANCE was born on 22 June 1852 in Missouri. He died on 27 September 1899 at the age of 47 in Texas.36

There is a marriage in Hunt Co, TX, 23 Feb 1908 for Jessie Brigance to L. F. Norfleet - this is likely Jessie since she isn't with the Brigance family in 1910. L. W. Russell, minister of the Gospel, married the couple.

Edgar Brigance of Keller, Tarrant Co, TX died on 25 Jul 1917 - his neck was broken when automobile turning over. He was born 22 Jul 1895 in Texas and was 22 years old. He was a car inspector for St. L. & S. W. His father given as H. F. Brigance; his mother as "Lucile" White - both born in Texas. C. M. White of Keller was the informant - perhaps his mother's half-brother, Charles M. White. The body was taken to Commerce for burial.

Edgar Brigance is buried Rosemound Cemetery, Commerce, Hunt Co, TX. His grave marked has his birth as 28 July rather than the 22nd.
