Timothy STAMPS1,2 died before September 1728 in Lancaster or Spotsylvania County, Virginia.3

Early records of Timothy are found in Lancaster Co. In 1728 he received an 800 acres grant on the fork of the Rappahannock River and received an additional 400 acres on 28 Sep 1728. Deed Books of Orange Co mention land in the fork of the Rappahannock, corner to Widow Stamps in 1735, 1736 and 1739.

Land Patents in CAVALIERS & PIONEERS, Vol. III:
All in Patent Book 13, dated 18 Sep 1728
p.320: Alexander McQueen, 200 acres in Spotsylvania Co in St. George's Parish on Potato Run in the fork of the Rappahannock on Widow Stamp's land.
p.327: Connorat Ambyon, 445 acres in Spotsylvania Co in St. George's Parish on Patoto Run in the fork of the Rappahannock adj Timothy Stamp, Christopher Simmorman's line.
p.384: Timothy Stamps of Lancaster Co, 400 acres Spotsylvania Co in St. George's Parish in the fork of the Rappahannock, on line of Christopher Simberman, corner of Quarles & Ashle.
p.476: John Dwett, 400 acres Spotsylvania Co in St. George's Parish in the great fork of the Rappahannock, adj the Widow Stamps, John Quarles, John Ashly, Richard Wright, Christopher Simmerman [probably Zimmerman], Thomas Wright, and Connoret Amboyn.
and in Patent Book 14, 25 Aug 1731, p.250: Christopher Simberman, 240 acres Spotsylvania Co in St. George Parish in the Great Fork of the Rappahannock adj Timothy Stamp, Alexander McQueen, Jooseph Cooper & the sd Simberman.

Although the 400 acres was patented on 18 Sep 1728, Timothy may have been already deceased, given that several of the above mention the Widow Stamps. It is highly doubtful this could have been his mother since his father had been death some 30 years. No doubt he had applied for the patent before his death. Spotsylvania Co was formed 1721, Orange from Spotsylvania in 1734.

Inventory of his estate filed in 1731. [This may be in the records of King George Co as that's where the Stamps database had his place of death.]
