They may have been daughters of a Thomas Ward who is in the 1790 Census, near Siler City. 6 Mar 1779 He was disowned from the Cane Creek MM for marrying out of unity. Thomas said to have died of a fever. His Will was dated 19 May 1787 and proved that August. His will names his wife Hannah, and his brothers Edom, Amos and Abner and mentions "sons" but does not give their names. His father's will did name, Job, Samuel, Elias, John, Thomas, as his grandsons, sons of his deceased son Thomas. Thomas RATCLIFF and Hannah WARD were married on 6 March 1779 in Chatham County, North Carolina. Hannah WARD was born on 28 November 1751 in Chatham County, North Carolina.
