84. Joel RATCLIFF¹¹ was born on 13 February 1800 in Chatham County, North Carolina.¹¹ He died after 1870 at the age of 70 in Iowa.

27 Jul 1826, Joel was condemned for marrying out of unity.
He later rejoined the the Quaker Society, the Springfield MM and the Back Creek MM.

Joel RATCLIFF and Rachel ADAMSON were married on 27 December 1825 in Wayne County, Indiana.¹² Rachel ADAMSON¹², daughter of JONATHAN ADAMSON and RUTH WILLIAMS, was born in 1801 in Tennessee.^11,13 She died on 25 January 1860 at the age of 59 in Russiaville, Howard County, Indiana.¹³

There are two marriages for a Rachel Adamson in the Wayne Co records. One to Joel Ratcliff on 27 Dec 1825 and one to Ezekiel Lamb on 13 Dec 1829. Apparently this Rachel married Joel Ratcliff. WorldConnect GEDCOM by Linsey H. Naranjo has Joel Ratliff, but date is 26 Dec 1826.

Grave marker pictured on FindAGrave as Rachel Adamson Ratcliff but is mostly unreadable - there appears to be an age in years, months, days. Died 25 Jan 1860 and buried Russiaville Cemetery, Howard Co, IN.

Rachel RATCLIFF was born on 7 August 1841 in Indiana.¹¹ She died on 9 May 1921 at the age of 79 in Allerton, Wayne County, Iowa.

Mrs. Rachel Trumbo died in Allerton, Wayne Co, Iowa, 9 May 1921, of cerebral hemorrhage & senility. She was a widow, born 7 Aug 1841, in Indiana. Her father was Joel Ratcliff, b. Ohio; her mother's maiden name "Admondson", b. TN. Presley Trumbo of Allerton, was the informant. Buried Allerton Cemetery on May 10th.

John C. RATCLIFF¹ was born in 1843 in Madison County, Indiana.¹¹ He died on 16 November 1891 at the age of 48 in Wallowa County, Oregon.

John enlisted in the Civil War at age 18, 9 Aug 1862, in Company D, 89th Regt, of the Indiana Infantry Volunteers.

He married Lusippa Smith, 8 Aug 1866, Kokomo, Howard Co IN. They were received into membership at the Reserve MM on 17 Sep 1876, from the Union MM.

29 Dec 1884. Lusippa Ratcliff was disowned from the Quaker Society.
