He was a truck driver for Brinks, Inc. His father was James Fair; his mother Martha Avery. The informant was Hedwig Fair of 17918 Oakwood Ave., Lansing, Illinois. He was buried on April 16th, City Cemetery, Beardstown, IL. He died of heart disease.

Lawrence O. Fair, age 53, of Lansing, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 13, 1979 at St. Margaret Hospital, Hammond. Survivors: wife, Hedwig; one son, Robert J. (Lee) Fair; one daughter Martha Ann (Hugh) Bowen, both of Conyer, Georgia; five grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Martha G. Pagels of Hammond. Proceded in death by his stepfather, Fred Pagels in 1970.
Funeral services will be held Monday April 16, 1 am at the Northcutt Funeral Home in Beardstown, Illinois. Burial, City Cemetery, Beardstown.
Mr. Fair had been a resident of Lansing for the past 15 years; he was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the US Army; a member of the American Legion Edward Schultz Post # 697 of Lansing; a member of Hessville Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #7881; and a member of the the Lansing Sportsmen's Club. He was an employee of Brinks, Inc.

Lawrence Otto FAIR and Verna Denice MACK were married. Verna Denice MACK was born on 24 May 1940 in Cook County, Illinois. She died on 7 September 2007 at the age of 67 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
