Baltus PICKEL6 was born on 21 March 1756.1 He died on 13 January 1826 at the age of 69.1 The Bible record of Baltus Pickel existed at the time of the compilation of the GENEALOGIES OF NEW JERSEY FAMILIES. Baltus Pickel, Quartermaster, General's Dept. Office of Adjutant General, State of New Jersey. His name attached to a list of payments. This record is often attributed to his father - I don't know to which it belongs. Baltus PICKEL and Catherine MCCLOW were married on 20 May 1787.6 Catherine MCCLOW6 was born on 16 May 1766.6 She died on 31 January 1809 at the age of 42.6 Catherine's parents may have been Joseph & Lucy Muclow/McClow as they are listed in the Bible record of Baltus Pickel. Dates have been transcribed in a confusing manner so as to make little sense if they were her parents. Joseph and Lucy could also have been other relatives of Catherine - they are listed as: Joseph died 15 Jan 1720 at age 73 making him dead some 46 years before the birth of Catherine - I suppose he could have been her grandfather; perhaps the immigrant?. Or was he actually born in 1720 and died in 1793 at age 73, which seems more reasonable? A Lucy Mucklow died 28 Jan 1775 aged 14 years [born 1761] and certainly could have been a sister to Catherine. It's possible the age was 44 years instead; she was born in 1731, and she was Catherine's mother. Baltus PICKEL and Catherine MCCLOW had the following children:
