15. BALTIS PICKEL was born on 8 December 1720 in Somerset County, New Jersey.1 He was christened on 30 July 1721 in Raritan, Somerset County, New Jersey. He died on 25 November 1786 at the age of 65 in Oldwick, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.1

There is an SAR application on Ancestry.com, claiming membership through Baltis Pickel, stating that he was a patriot - having loaned money to the Treasury of New Jersey. Also in old lineage book of NSDAR with the same service.

Mabel Pickel Naylor, #251241, was admitted to NSDAR, 13 Apr 1929. She went through son Abraham has have several others. There are also members through Baltis's son Baltis and daughter Mary, although all those through claimed daughter Mary state there is a problem. I have never seen evidence of a daughter named Mary.
BALTIS PICKEL and SOPHIA "Phidia" VAN HORNE were married on 10 November 1746 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.1 SOPHIA "Phidia" VAN HORNE, daughter of ABRAHAM VAN HORNE and ANNETJE COUWENHOVEN, was born on 7 November 1726.1 She died on 17 May 1764 at the age of 37 in Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey.1

Anna Pickel was born on Apr 9, 1749. She was the daughter of Baltis Pickel and Phidia Van Horn. Anna married Christian Melick, son of Johan David Melick and Elizabeth (Unknown), circa 1770. Anna married Rev. William/Wilhelm Anton Graff after 1788. Anna Pickel died on Jan 23, 1823 at New York City, New York County, New York, at age 73. Anna was buried at Lebanon Reformed Church.
