Mary's death is seen in online databases as 27 Apr 1849, but she is listed in the above census, seemingly alive. Had she died after 1 June 1849, then the enumerator should have listed her and listed her in the mortality census as well. She is not found there. She doesn't appear in 1860 with the children - they appear to have been orphaned

Mary PICKEL and Minard LYNN were married on 14 May 1835 in Franklin County, Ohio.¹ Minard LYNN was born in 1812 in Virginia. He died by 1855 at the age of 43.

Although this record seems strange and may have no relationship - a Minor Lynn, born 1811, was buried 22 Oct 1853 in the Charity Hospital Cemetery, Orleans Parish, LA.

James was probably the children's uncle. In the 1850 census, he was listed next door to Minor, age 48, b. VA. His wife Lucinda, age 44, and Nancy 15, Joseph 10, Laura A. age 7.

91	vi.	Hannah LYNN was born in 1847. She died in September 1849 at the age of 2 in Camden, Schuyler County, Illinois. Most show Hannah's birth as 17 Apr 1849, apparently calculated from her stone. The engraving is strange is that she appears to have been 4y 5m 10d at death - yet the 4 looks almost like a 1 that has been altered. The stone is pictured in a database on Ancestry.com http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/5694545/person/6290043450 Also in the mortality schedule for Schuyler Co, IL, Eden Twp, 1850 is: Hannah Lynn, age 2, died Sept 1849 of summer complaint. She is in fact recorded twice on this page - crossed out once, but written again.
