Funeral Services Held Monday for Levi Agans
The many friends of Levi Agans, highly esteemed resident of Schuyler county during his entire lifetime of more than three score years, were grieved to learn of his death, which occurred at his late home in Woodstock township early Saturday morning, his death being caused by a heart attack.
Mr. Agans was stricken late at night and died while his wife was enroute to the home of a neigbor to summon assistance. Dr. Munson was called, but Mr. Agans passed to the Great Beyond before his arrival. Owing to the fact that Mr. Agans had not been under the care of a physician it was necessary for Coroner Justus to hold an inquest.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. H. M. Cady, were held Monday afternoon from the Bethany Methodist church in Camden township. Interment was in the Lynn cemetery in Camden township.
Levia Agans, son of Thomas and Anna Agans was born in Schuyler county, September 18, 1866 and departed this life at his home in Woodstock township, May 13, 1933, aged 66 years, 7 months and 26 days.
His entire life was spent in Camden and Woodstock townships, where he had been engaged in farming with the exception of a few years, when he lived in Frederick.
On January 26, 1888, Mr. Agans was united in marriage to Miss Ida V. Avery, and to this union were born five sons and three daughters. Two daughters preceded him in death, Esther dying in infancy, and Ethel, the wife of Edgar McClelland of Mt. Sterling. Those left to mourn his departure are, his wife Mrs. Ida Agans, five sons and one daughter, Wibert of Camden; Winnie (Willie?) of Birminham; Pearl Marlow of Macomb; Earl, Chester, and Bennie of Industry; one brother and one sister both of Rushville, Steven Agans and Mrs. John Peters and nineteen grandchildren.
