William Franklin AVERY was born on 19 February 1862 in Illinois.11 He died on 13 October 1942 at the age of 80.

I found a Missouri Death Certificate for Joseph Sidney Avery, born 27 Feb 1909 and died 7 Aug 1910 of gastro-enteritis in Arcadia, Iron Co, MO. He had lived 18 months, 11 days. Note: this is what my grandmother called "summer complaint" that many babies starting to eat table food contracted from eating spoiled food in the summer that their elder family members' digestive symptoms had learned to tolerate.
The baby's parents were William Avery, born Rushville, Illinois and Molley Crocker, born Black River, Iron Co, MO. His father was the informant. He was buried at Pilot Knob, Ironton, MO. Missouri Death Certificate #23693.

William and Molley lost a second little boy, Oliver Franklin Avery, born and died on the 8th of February 1912, Edgehill, Iron Co MO. Cause of death was stated as "died of spasms - child was marked over entire body, caused by mother seeing a child have spasms"
Father was listed as William Avery, born Illinois, mother as Mary Alice Crocker, born Goodwater, MO. Anna Crocker was the informant - the undertaker was Rich. Crocker. The baby was buried Stricklen Cemetery, Edgehill. Missouri Death Certificate #5099.
