48. William IRION^58,59 was born on 15 August 1789 in Rockingham County, North Carolina.⁶⁰ He died on 9 June 1851 at the age of 61 in Fayette County, Tennessee.⁶¹

Lived in Georgia a few years. Headed West across Alabama. Family was in Hardeman Co TN by the mid 1820's and still there in 1840. Lived near Bolivar in 1850. William's wherabouts unknown after that date.

William and McKinney Irion were both in Hardeman Co for the 1830 Census. William was listed first with McKinney immediately after. p.362. I did not find them indexed - the name appears to be Ironz.

Another Irion researcher gives William's date of death as 4 Jul 1851.

William IRION and Amelia CADE were married on 29 September 1815 in Wilkes County, Georgia.⁶¹ Amelia CADE⁶², daughter of James CADE and Mary WOOTEN, was born on 29 June 1797 in Wilkes County, Georgia.⁶¹ She died on 18 July 1849 at the age of 52 in Hardeman County, Tennessee.^61,63 Buried Bethany Cemetery south of Whiteville, Hardiman Co TN.

Amelia Irons, age 52 was on the Mortality Census in 1850. She had died the previous July of kidney disease.

Robertson, 2 Dec 1847, Washington Co TX. Living in Washington Co TX 1840-46; Robertson Co TX 1850. Van died 30 Nov 1850 at age 33 from malaria. Brother-in-law Thomas C. Jones appointed guardian of his children. Mexican War, 1st Mounted Rifles (J. C. Hays), Van R. Irion was a Private in Capt. Ballowe's Company Mustered in 7 Jun 1846 with Capt. Earley's Company - joined this unit by Transfer, 11 July 1846 - Present at Point Isabel, TX on 14 July 1846. To serve six months. Present at Monterey Mexico, 2 Oct 1846. Note: pay due for term of Service. Enrolled 16 May 1846.
57	ii.	Mary Cade IRION⁶³ was born about 1819 in Alabama.⁶³ Married Thomas C. Jones 17 May 1837 Hardman County TN. Fayette Co TN in 1850; Hardman Co in 1860.
58	iii.	Sarah Jane IRION⁶³ was born about 1821.⁶³ Married Thomas Peters, 28 Oct 1846 Hardeman Co TN. Deceased by 1871; husband appointed guardian of daughter.
59	iv.	Amelia Tabitha IRION⁶³ was born on 3 February 1823 in Alabama.⁶³ She died on 8 March 1883 at the age of 60. Single, living at home in Bolivar, Hardeman Co TN 1850; with brother William in Tishomingo County MS in 1860. Irion had middle names for many of these children. 61	vi.	Thomas W. IRION⁶⁴ was born on 2 November 1829 in Tennessee.⁶¹ Married Delila F. Baldwin 6 May 1851 Hardeman Co TN. Private, Company G, 32nd MS Infantry, CSA. Corinth, Alcorn Co MS in 1870 census. Thomas and William listed as twins in Irion book.
62	vii.	William McKinney IRION⁶⁴ was born on 2 November 1829 in Tennessee.⁶¹ Married Mary Ann Glasgow on 20 Mar 1851 in Shelby Co TN. Captain, Company G, 32nd MS Infantry, CSA. Deceased by 1871.
63	viii.	James C. IRION⁶⁴ was born about 1837.⁶⁴ Single, living at home with brother William in Hardeman Co TN in 1850.
