30. Benjamin HOLTZCLAW²² was born about 1748.⁴⁸ He died in 1826 at the age of 78 in Lincoln County, Kentucky.²¹

In 1794, Benjamin Holtzclaw testified that his brother Henry, before moving to North Carolina, had sold his land to Martin Pickett. Fauquier Co. Misc. Records 1759-1807, p.60

Benjamin Holtzclaw was paid during the Revolution for supplies furnished the troops in Fauquier County. Moved to Lincoln County KY in 1804.

Benjamin HOLTZCLAW and Catherine Melinda RUSSELL were married.⁴⁸ Catherine Melinda RUSSELL²² was born in January 1757. She died about 1834 at the age of 77 in Lincoln County, Kentucky.²²

Melinda may have been a first cousin, daughter of Martin Russell, brother of Catherine.

Benjamin HOLTZCLAW and Catherine Melinda RUSSELL had the following children:

99	v.	Hosea HOLTZCLAW was born about 1778.²² He died circa 1815 at the age of 37 in Wilkes County, Georgia. Hosea married Sarah Bailey before 1804 - she survived him.

104	x.	Benjamin HOLTZCLAW was born on 18 January 1788.²² He died on 7 September 1879 at the age of 91 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Benjamin married (1) 15 Oct 1827, Mary Ann Scott, Lincoln Co KY. He married (2), 17 Jun 1839, Garrard Co KY, Mrs. Lettie (Middleton) Payne.
