Home at Lodiburg for more than Fifty Years
An Old Land Mark
Mrs. Mary J. Hardin died at Lodiburg, last Friday, March 18. she had been ill for several weeks and her death was due to old age and a complications of diseases.
Mrs. Hardin was born in Virginia on October 23, 1825, being 84 years of age. When a small child she came to Kentucky and for 50 years had been a resident of Lodiburg. She was the wife of Elijah Hardin, a prominent citizen of Breckenridge County, who died a number of years ago. Mrs. Hardin was a devoted Christian and a most estimable woman.
She is survived by four sons, two daughters, 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The children are W. H. Hardin of Owensboro; Dr. John M. Hardin of Brandenburg; Samuel E. Hardin of St. Louis; Asia M. Hardin of Lodiburg; and Mrs. Lizzie R. Robertson of Missouri.

328	i.	William Henry HARDIN was born on 20 July 1846 in Kentucky.¹¹⁴ He died on 24 March 1924 at the age of 77 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky. Married Bettie Fairley. Kentucky Death Certificate #5708 William Henry Hardin died 24 Mar 1924 at 515 Crittenden, Owensboro, Davies Co. of nephritis and paralysis. He was born 20 July 1846, Breckinridge Co KY and was married. Parents were Elijah Hardin, b. Breckinridge Co KY and Mary Jane Massey, b. Virginia. Myra Hinton of Westfield NJ was the informant. Buried Rose Hill Cemetery, Asa M. Hardin, son of Elijah Hardin and Mary Jane Massey died in Albuquerque, Bernalillo Co, NM on 21 Oct 1943. His wife was Libbie Hardin.
329	ii.	John Massey HARDIN was born in 1848 in Kentucky.¹¹⁴ He died in 1925 at the age of 77 in Brandenburg, Meade County, Kentucky.
330	iii.	Paul Byron HARDIN was born on 10 August 1851. He died on 4 February 1908 at the age of 56. Married Mattie Mobley.
331	iv.	Ida Lee HARDIN was born on 7 May 1855 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. She died on 27 May 1941 at the age of 86 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. Married John W. Brown (1849-1930). They are buried Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Lodiburg, Breckinridge Co, KY
332	v.	Samuel Elijah HARDIN was born on 5 August 1856. He died on 29 December 1922 at the age of 66. Listed as not married in 1914 newspaper.
333	vi.	Eliza Jane HARDIN was born on 23 January 1858. She died on 11 March 1860 at the age of 2. She was buried in Hardin Basham Cemetery #2, Breckinridge County, Kentucky. Married Sam Robertson.
