ACServices for the Rev. Arthur L. "Dempsey" Charles, 73, Arp, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the First Assembly of God Church, Arp, with the Rev. Brian Wil-liams officiating.
Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Arp, under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Rev. Charles died April 4, 2011, in Kilgore.
He was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Gladewater to the late Homer and Pearl Comstock Charles.
He was a retired Assembly of God pastor, serving several congregations including the Calvary Assembly of God Church, Marshall for 17 years. He also retired in 1999 as a state health inspector.
Rev. Charles was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Arp.
He married Jean Lott in Gilmer, Nov. 4, 1966. She preceded him in death July 10, 1999.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jonathan Charles, Jacksonville, and Jason and Carol Charles, New London; three daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Kevin Deutsch, Kilgore, Rebekah and Michael Lyon, Troup and Rachel and Lonnie Johnson, Kilgore; a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Kenneth and Rene Charles, Liberty City; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kirby Lyon, Kelby Lyon, James Rowland Allen, Aaron Autrey, David Fry, Weston Keenan, Chris Holly and Curtis Boggs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.
