297. Dorcas COMSTOCK¹²⁷ was born on 30 November 1817 in Cloverport, Breckinridge County, Kentucky.^98,160 She died on 24 January 1860 at the age of 42 in Hawesville, Hancock County, Kentucky.⁹⁸

Dorcas was raised by her grandparents, Amos & Dorcas Williams. She lived with them until a few years before her marriage, then lived with her uncle, Henry Williams.

Dorcas COMSTOCK and George Washington MCADAMS were married on 7 August 1840 in Hawesville, Hancock County, Kentucky.^102,125 George Washington MCADAMS¹⁶¹, son of John MCADAMS and Rebecca IRONS, was born on 25 December 1815 in New Amsterdam, Harrison County, Indiana.¹⁶² He died on 2 August 1889 at the age of 73.¹⁶²

Married by Reverend Henry W. Hughes.

In 1832, George went to Portland KY (Louisville) and went to work for Eugene Perrot, one of the early French settlers at the Falls of the Ohio. While working on the river trade, he became familiar with Hawesville and soon moved there. His brother Samuel and also settled there. George dealt in real estate and buying tobacco and about the time of Civil War owned several large coal mines. The War, debts, tobacco market collapse, wiped out his fortune and he spent the last few years at the home of his son, Eugene P. McAdams.

Newman married Josephine McAdams, 6 Mar 1862, Hancock Co, KY. Illinois Deaths on FamilySearch.org. Josephine McAdams Newman died 21 Jul 1930 in Cairo, Alexander Co, IL. She was born 8 Nov 1842 in Hawsville, KY and was 87 years old. Her father was Geo. W. McAdams born in Indiana; her mother Darkus Comstock, born in Kentucky. Her spouse was Alber. G. Newman and she was buried on the 23rd of July in Hawsville Cemetery.

Hester MCADAMS¹⁶⁴ was born on 22 February 1845 in Hawesville, Hancock County, Kentucky.¹⁶³ She died on 6 July 1929 at the age of 84 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.¹⁶³ Hester married Dr. Robert W. Taylor, 20 May 1869, Hawesville, Hancock, KY 1880, Hawesville, Hancock Co KY Hh 59 R. W. Taylor, age 40, physician, b. KY as were his parents. Hester, age 35, wife, b. KY, father b. IN, mother b. She died of pulmonary edema due to exhaustion caused by confinement to bed from fracture of the thigh. She was the widow of Robert W. Taylor. Born Hawesville, KY, 22 Feb 1845. Parents listed as George W. McAdams, born Nelson Co, KY and Dorcas Comstock, b. Hancock Co, KY. Josephine N. Taylor of the address, was the informant. Buried Cave Hill Cemetery on July 10th. Louisville Times, 9 July 1929 "Taylor - At the Kentucky Baptist Hospital at 6:10 p.m., July 8, Mrs. Hester McAdams Taylor, widow of the late Dr. R. W. Taylor, age 84 years. Funeral from her residence, No. 3 Eastover Court, at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 10. Interment in Cave Hill Cemetery."
