8. Mildred\Emeline HARMON was born about 1801 in Russell County, Virginia.³ She died on 11 April 1838 at the age of 37 in Pike Township, Marion County, Indiana.³

A WorldConnect file had Emilie Harmon married to Hiram Lewis, but that is not what is in the Marriage Index from Indiana. Mildred Harmon married Hiram H. Lewis. They took out license on June 16th, 1821, Bartholemew Co, IN. The WorldConnect file showed that Mildred had married a Jeremiah Bruce in 1940 [she would have been 138 years old.] Given that Milly is an often used nickname for both Emily and Mildred, I am not sure they were two separate daughters. The Marriage Index had no marriage for an Emily/Emilie/Milly Harmon, any spelling. Neither was there a marriage from Mildred to anyone but Hiram H. Lewis. No Jeremiah Bruce either. Other researchers do not have an Emilie.

A Millard Byrd is believe to have been a sister to this lady's mother - I suspect the name of both was Mildred.

Milly must have died in childbirth along with the last baby boy in 1838.

DAR Application lists a daughter Mildred for John & Elizabeth Harmon - states she married Jeremiah Bruce on 2 Jan 1840.

Mildred\Emeline HARMON and Hiram Hamilton LEWIS were married on 24 June 1821 in Bartholomew County, Indiana.⁵ Hiram Hamilton LEWIS was born on 26 January 1802 in Gallatin County, Kentucky.³ He died in 1879 at the age of 77 in Lane County, Oregon.³
