43. Mary Jane HARMON was born on 9 April 1820 in Indiana.^3,38 She died on 25 October 1855 at the age of 35.³ She was buried at Salem Cemetery in Zionsville, Boone County, Indiana.

One source gave Mary Jane's county of birth as Rush Co. Another source gives Mary Jane's county of birth as Franklin Co IN - this is where her parents' married and seems more likely. Rush Co & Marion Co IN were not formed until 1822 and were formed out of the southern part of the Delaware New Purchase made from Indian lands in 1820.

A baby girl was born and died just about a month before Mary Jane died.

Mary Jane HARMON and John Stearns SHAW were married on 25 August 1836 in Marion County, Indiana.^5,38 John Stearns SHAW was born on 21 February 1816 in Steuben County, New York.^8,38 He died on 25 January 1888 at the age of 71 in Boone County, Indiana.⁸

Marriage record to Mary Jane Harmon, states his father was also John Shaw.

John remarried after the death of Mary Jane - to Sarah Ann Lemon, 30 Mar 1856, Boone Co IN. She was the daughter of William Lemon and Harriett Pitzer.
