Mother of Mrs. H. B. Johnson Dies in Greensburg, Ind.
News of the death of Mrs. P. Swaim, 73 years old, this morning at 10 o'clock, at her home in greensburg, Ind., was recieved in the city today. Her condition has been critical for several weeks as she has been lingering with an illness of complications. She is survived by Mrs. H. G. Johnston, 404 South Sixth Street, who has been at her bedside for several weeks. The funeral will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis tomorrow. Mrs. Swaim had visited in Paducah on several occasions and had a number of friends in Paducah.

Tuesday Charles Harmon received word that his siter Mrs. Philadelphia Swaim who lived at Greensburg had died. In the Harmon family there were 13 children, seven boys and six girls, all have passed to the beyond with exception of Charles who is now near 70 years of age, but who bids fair to live many more years as health now indicates. The funeral of Mrs. Swaim was held at Greensburg and burial made at Crown Hill cemetery, Wednesday.

Philadelphia HARMON and Trougett SWAIM were married on 7 October 1856 in Boone County, Indiana. Trougett SWAIM was born on 6 June 1829 in North Carolina. He died on 2 September 1875 at the age of 46 in Indiana. He was buried at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana.64

Charles Swain, 73, died at 2 o'clock this morning at his home in Greensburg. Death was attributed to dropsy.
Funeral services and burial will be held Thursday at Greensburg.
Mr. Swain was a retired employee of the Big Four railroad company.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Dietz, and four grandchildren, one of whom, James Dietz, lives here.

Ella May died 11 Feb 1919. She is buried South Park Cemetery, Greensburg, Decatur, IN. Her parents were Frank and Nasis (Devine) Herseley. Charles is buried in the same cemetery - he died 30 Jun 1942.

An Indiana Birth Certificate gives the name of Grace's husband and child - Charles Evert Sylvia was born 28 Feb 1929 in Greensburg, Washington Twp, Decataur County. Father was Lester Brown Sylvia; mother, Grace May Swaim, both born in Indiana. This was their first child.

Lora Belle Swaim appears in the Greensburg High School Yearbook, Tree City Breeze, in 1926 as a member of the Class of 1929. She married Lawrence E. Dietz - they share a joint grave marker in Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus, Bartholomew Co, IN. Lora Belle 1911-1993, Lawrence E. 1903-1949. They were married about 1829 - they are together in the 1930 Census, Greensburg, Decatur, IN - he was 26 and working as a machinist in a shirt factory, she was 18 and working as a seamstress in the shirt factory.

Watson was born 25 Jun 1903 in Litchfield, KY. He was a painter. His father was Robert L. Watson; his mother Rosella White, both living in Kentucky. This is his second marriage, he was divorced Oct 1945.
Lora died 17 April 1993 in Clay Co, Florida - her last residence according to Social Security was Jacksonville. She was apparently taken back to Columbus, Bartholomew Co, IN to be buried with Lawrence Dietz.

There is something very odd about this union. There is the marriage record - then there are records of Blanche living in Indianapolis as a "widow" and Harry living with his sister in Kentucky. Then she is with Harry in California in 1910.

FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR EX-FIRE CAPTAIN
Funeral services for Harry Swaim, 51 years old, former captain of three engine companies in the Louisville Fire Department, who died at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday night at St. Anthony's Hospital, will be held at 8:30 o'clock Saturday morning at his home at 1038 Franklin Street and at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.
For the last two years Mr. Swain was a watchman for the liberty Insurance Bank. He resigned a lieutenancy inthe No. 4 Engine Company in 1919. during his twenty-three years of service in the department he headed Engine Companies No., 5, No. 1, and No. 12.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Blanche Swain: two sons, Charles and Edward Swain, and a daughter Mrs. Roy Martin.
