He had gone to high school four years. Ivan was owner & manager of a retail drug store - I know that it was on the square downtown.

Ladonia News, Friday, Mar 12, 1954: Steven Paul Fry is improving in a Plainview hospital following a serious attack of pneumonia, his grandfather, Ivan Fry, reports after a visit there from Sunday until Tuesday of this week. Mrs. Ivan Fray remained in Plainview for a long visit with Mr. & Mrs. Albert Ivan Fray and Steven Paul.

Ivan B. Fry died from pneumonia and respiratory failure at the Terell State Hospital in Terrell, Kaufman Co, TX. His home was Ladonia, Fannin Co. He died 28 Dec 1967, at age 74. Born 20 Apr 1893. He was a pharmacist. Father's name listed as F. E. Fry. Information was taken from the Hospital records. The cemetery is marked as unknown, but says the body removed to Cooper, Texas.
Note: Terrell State Hospital has been a psychiatric facility since 1885 - originally known as an insane asylum. None of the original buildings remain.

Ladonia - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday for Ivan Bruce Fry, 75, who died Thursday at 3 a.m. in a Terrell hospital following an illness of several weeks.
The services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Ladonia with the Rev. Joel Robinson, pastor, officating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery (part of Ladonia City Cemetery) under the direction of the Delta Funeral Home.
Mr. Fry was born April 20, 1892, near Ladonia, the son of the late F. E. and Mittie Eastman Fry.
A retired druggist, Mr. Fry had operated a drugstore in Ladonia for many years.
He was a member of Bethel Lodge, 134 A.F. and A.M. and the Ladonia Lions Club. Also, Mr. Fry was a director in the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Ladonia.
In 1935, he married Blanch Mills.
Survivors include his widow: one son, Albert Alvin Fry of Beaumont; one brother, Liston Fry of Como; and five grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be Sam Bryant, Leroy Byers, R. C. Fife, Robert Hayes, Ebb Bartley and Bob Joyner.

Albert Fry enlisted in the Air Force, 12 Nov 1943; was discharged 10 May 1946. He re-enlisted 18 Apr 1949; discharged 17 Apr 1953.

Albert married Eva Louise Battin on 6 Apr 1950. There were five children: Stephan Paul, Virginia Ann, Donald Bruce, Judith Elaine, and Lloyd Edward.

He was the owner of Fry Lumber Co. and had served in W. W. II. His father was Ivan Bruce Fry; his mother Margaret Abernathy. Mrs. Mary Fry, wife, was the informant. He was buried Nov 15, 1976, Presbyterian Cemetery (part of City Cemetery), Ladonia.

Albert is buried in Presbyterian Cemetery part of Ladonia Cemetery. He served as a Corporal in WW II and his grave is marked with a simple military stone. Lot 89 PN Sect 1.

Albert I. Fry, of 3215 Clarksville St., owner of Fry Lumber Co., died at 11 a.m. Saturday at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Leverett and Steele Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Presbyterian Cemetery at Ladonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Fry was born Nov. 18, 1925 at Ladonia, the son of Ivan Bruce Fry and Margaret Abernathy Fry.
He was married in July 1974 to Mary Lou Ford in Paris (Texas).
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force and in the Coast Guard.
He was a member of the Episcopal church and of the Bethel Masonic Lodge No. 134 at Ladonia, Knights Templar and the Elks Lodge.
Mr. Fry attended East Texas State University, North Texas State University and Texas Tech University.
Survivors include his wife; his step-mother, Mrs. Blanche Fry of Ladonia; three sons, Stephen Fry of Atlanta, Ga., and Donald and Lloyd Fry, both of Paris; two daughters, Virginia Fry of Fort Worth and Judith Fry of Paris; one step-son Jimmie Ford of Lubbock; two step-daughters, Mrs. Roddy Watson of Detroit and Mrs. David Vickers of Houston; and two step-grandchildren.

Eva Louise Fry's death certificate states she died 29 Nov 1979 at St. Joseph Hospital in Paris, Lamar Co, TX. She died of complications from ovarian cancer. Her residence was 2474 Simpson in Paris. She was born 26 Dec 1926 in Lubbock, TX, daughter of Lloyd Battin and Berta (Verta in the 1930 & 1940 censuses) Holt. Her daughter Judith Fry was the informant. Buried Evergreen Cemetery, Paris, Dec 1st.

Mrs. Fry was born Dec 12, 1926 in Lubbock. Her parents were the late Lloyd and Bertha (Holt) Battin. Mrs. Fry was a counselor at the Paris Outreach Clinic. She was a member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church and a member of the Altrusa Club.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen Fry & Lloyd Fry, both of Paris, and Donald Fry of Beaumont; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Ciriot of Fort Worth and Miss Judith Fry of Denton; and two brothers, James Battin of Albuquerque, NM and Joe Battin of Beaumont.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm tonight at the funeral home.
