John Harrill Rattan of Sedalia, an aircraft mechanic, died Jan. 6 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 74.
A funeral service was Wednesday at Andrews Caldwell Gibson Funeral Home in Castle Rock.
He was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Honey Grove, Texas. On June 21, 1942, he married Mary Jane Fry in Garland, Texas.
Rattan served in the Navy during World War II.
He was employed at TEMCO and E-Systems as an aircraft mechanic and worked on the missile program.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Ladonia, Texas.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Nita Lehnerz, Sedalia; two sisters, Lillian Muncy, San Antonio, Texas, and Bobbie Cromwell, Dallas; two brothers, Bill and Harles, both of Arlington, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
