Virginia could always find another husband. I have searched the Social Security Death Index and FindAGrave for years looking for her death without success.

The obituary of her sister Juanita in 2008, stated Virginia Gibbons was still living.

Although others have assumed this to be Virginia, the year of her birth was 1922, instead of 1921 and it is not the same lady. Records and proof follows:

In 1970 Virginia was still very much married to Dick Roedel and by 1980 to Donald Gibbons - he was not the wife of Roger K. Cole!

Virginia Louise PIPPIN and Robert Clayton CARPENTER were married about 1939. They were divorced on 1 February 1946 in Pulaski County, Arkansas. Robert Clayton CARPENTER was born on 6 October 1920. He died on 25 May 1980 at the age of 59 in Jones County, Texas.

Virginia Louise PIPPIN and Dick ROEDEL were married about 1955. Dick ROEDEL was born on 7 January 1922.²³⁰ He died in August 1977 at the age of 55 in Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado.²³⁰

Listed in the SSDI as Oscar Roedel. We did not know his name was Oscar, but the dates and places seem right.

Virginia Louise PIPPIN and Donald GIBBONS were married about 1980. Donald GIBBONS was born on 11 November 1928.²³⁰ He died in February 1987 at the age of 58 in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado.²³⁰
